DESIGN: RESEARCH, AVANT-GARDE AND MUSEUM FORMAT

Superstudio (with its two locations in via Tortona and via Forcella) is the venue of the Temporary Museum for New Design, the most important annual event that takes place every year in April during the International Furniture Fair , when the whole Tortona area is involved in the events of the Design Week.
The location in via Tortona was established in the year 2000 and since the first edition launched by Cappellini – leading brand of the Made in Italy – and Via – the association of the most interesting French designers – Superstudio has been identified and acknowledged as the biggest, the most prestigious, and sought-after location for cultural, design, artistic exhibitions and events.
After a careful selection, Superstudio is able to present the most innovative Italian and International brands, as well as a bunch of young, talented emerging designers from all over the world.

The "Temporary Museum for New Design", which turns Superstudio's extensive spaces into a museum dedicated to the best International design according to the concept "less of a Fair and more of a Museum", is directed and supervised by Giulio Cappellini and Gisella Borioli.

REGISTRATIONS TO EDITION 2010 ARE NOW OPENED

We are working on the assignement of exhibition spaces during the Temporary Museum for New Design 2010 at Superstudio. After the great success of last edition, Superstudio is willing to propose again the museum-like formula that has determined the event to be unique and different, an important business and cultural opportunity.
Great attention will be given to quality, innovation, and research through a necessary selection of the participants that enables the Temporary Museum to be once again surprising.

In Milan, a "Fuori Salone del Mobile" that seems a Museum of Design.
The most significant location in the Tortona's district doubles the exhibition spaces, unifying Superstudio Più and Superstudio 13 in an innovative project "less of a Fair and more of a Museum".
A formula that combines new products with museum-like exhibitions and cultural occasions, directed and supervised by Giulio Cappellini and Gisella Borioli. The result? The wide spaces of Superstudio become different Galleries and Studios, inside which it is possible to discover, among artistic installations and contaminations, the ultimate evolutions of design research. Design is explored broadly speaking, through all its branches.
Two are the guiding themes: "International Panorama" (with the section "Discovering" in the Basement, entirely dedicated to young designers of emerging countries) at Superstudio Più in Via Tortona 27, and "Italians: New Perspectives", dedicated to new Made in Italy proposals, through highly emotional installations presented at Superstudio 13, in via Forcella 13/Via Bugatti 9.
New talents, emerging countries, innovative and experimental proposals… A place for discoveries will be the Basement at Superstudio Più, for the first time at young designers and foreign ideas' disposal. "Discovering" presents the section "Young talents on show", 20 young designers selected all over the world by the editions of Elle Decoration Network ,  and "Hidden Heroes" an installation by a group of maverick designers. "Other worlds, other ideas" presents a selection of projects and designers from other countries, selected by Superstudio.
